The song "Learn to be Lonely" is an exclusive song written by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber expressly for the Phantom of the Opera 2004 movie. It is number 14 on the soundtrack, and is sung by Minnie Driver during the credits after the film. Different strands of it are played throughout the movie as well, including during the Phantom and Christine's intimate moment during "Why So Silent?", directly after "Masquerade". It is also quietly played in the background at the very end of the movie, during Raoul's visit to Christine's grave. It represents the Phantom's realization that his life was always meant to be lived and loved alone, without companionship or comfort.
